Less than 10. Despite the current pandemic, if your wedding abides by social distancing rules, *extremely* limited numbers, and available venue accommodations, your wedding could still happen without postponement. Cutting your guest list down to 150 people is typically difficult, so keeping it 5-10 people total could be impossible for you. And that’s ok. For some people, the wait will be worth it. While for others, adapting works fine.
Adapting Your Wedding Plans
If your wedding was scheduled for recent months, you likely moved your date. Hopefully your venue was flexible and allowed you to change dates with no additional fees. With many events facing this issue right now, make sure you are communicating as clearly as possible with your vendors and guests, too. Through good communication, your second round of wedding planning will be an absolute breeze.
In addition to many other ‘corona wedding’ tips, MintedWeddings offers the following helpful advice:
- “Think about your guests and how the coronavirus is known to affect the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions more severely. Will you be okay having your wedding if key elderly or immune-compromised guests can’t attend? Should you postpone or re-arrange dates if those guests need to be in attendance?
- If dates can’t be changed or postponed, consider alternatives for attending the wedding. If you’ve hired a videographer, ask if they’d be willing to work with you to stream the ceremony. Guests could stream the ceremony at home and a more formal celebration can be held in the future. You could also help guests who can’t travel arrange a watch-party where favors and food similar to that at the wedding are delivered to the party host.”
Daisy Hill Elopement Ceremony, March 2020
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Brock who celebrated their love with an elopement ceremony on their intended wedding day this past March! We are thankful we were able to honor the couple’s original date by taking precautions and keeping everything sweet and simple. Once things improve this fall, we will have the opportunity to host them again for a bigger party!
P.S. Check out the bride’s white jumpsuit–we love it!
