What’s Trending for 2020 Weddings

While it may seem like 2020 weddings have been on hold, the trends have absolutely not been. Check out our list of considerations for your fabulous event.

2020 Weddings: Color Choices

According the The Knot‘s writer Lauren Kay: “Expect to see a lot of neo mint, a.k.a. the new millennial pink; cassis, not quite pink, not quite purple; yellow, a mellow, rich hue with earthy undertones; and faded denim, a blue that equally fresh and serene.” Of course you probably also know Pantone’s color of the year, seen below, is “Classic Blue.” For weddings, this shade of blue is popping up more often in men’s jackets.

“Breaking” the Rules

In 2020, weddings are what you want them to be. If you and your partner are uninterested in the garter toss, remove it from the itinerary. The same goes for first dances, toasts, and any other traditional wedding component that does not fit your vibe. Some articles about 2020 wedding trends even note the wedding cake as a traditional piece that is being replaced with smaller, cheaper alternatives. Hey, cupcakes are yummy and easier to carry around.

Food Trucks

Or coffee trucks–whatever fits your theme! We absolutely adored Three Tree Coffee Roasters at Mr. and Mrs. Jones’s wedding this past December. Whether your truck serves food, beverages, or both, your guests will love the trendy, casual quirk.

Smaller Guest Lists

Have you heard about Micro Weddings? With less people invited, your ceremony will be more intimate and, obviously, personal. Less people means you can splurge on pricier favors and food and beverage packages, too!

Sustainable Weddings

We wrote about sustainable choices for your special event earlier this year. Check out that article here: “Sustainability and Your Special Event.” This trend especially focuses on your flower choices and asks you to think about where your flowers go when you are finished with them.

Bridal Dresses

On the same trend as being more sustainable, 2020 brides are keeping open minds toward vintage wedding dresses. You will not only help the environment, but also save a good bit of cash with this decision–just maybe sage it or something.

The Roaring 20s

Feathers, feathers, and more feathers. You can pop ostrich feathers into giant vases on their own or add feather details to your colorful floral arrangements. Regardless of where you put them, they will add fun texture to your event. Besides the feathers, vintage decor and a live band will help you throw your 2020 wedding back to 1920.

Bohemian Glam: 2020 Still Loves It

Earlier this spring Daisy Hill hosted a beautiful elopement ceremony, which can be seen via this link here: Less Than 10: Pandemic Weddings. The piece features a gallery that, despite the COVID-19 alterations, fits the trends for 2020.
